The Hydrogen Jobs Now Coalition (HJN) unites business, labor, civic and economic development leaders to support public policy that drives a strong hydrogen economy. The Coalition works with key third parties and local leaders to educate Congress and the Trump Administration as they digest the clean hydrogen tax credit (Sec. 45V) and look to drive U.S. energy dominance. The goal is to identify necessary modifications to drive investments and create quality jobs in energy, transportation, and agriculture.
THE CHALLENGE
The U.S. is poised to develop a hydrogen industry which will to transform the energy and environmental landscape. More than $50 billion in public and private financing will catalyze this emerging energy sector through the initial establishment of Hydrogen Hubs, with hundreds of thousands of jobs to follow. Unfortunately, burdensome and overly prescriptive tax regulations by the U.S. Treasury Department introduce additional risks to investors, impose delays that jeopardize opportunities for U.S. energy workers, and threaten U.S. leadership in this emerging sector. HJN aims to improve these regulations, and if necessary, seek legislative changes.
